How to use Manthan
Self-serve answers for getting your retros set up, understanding how anonymity works, and shipping action items.
Getting started
Sign up with your work email — we use magic-link authentication, so there are no passwords to remember. Personal email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) are blocked; Manthan is built for company teams.
After signing up, a 3-step onboarding walks you through entering your name, naming your workspace, and creating your first board. Once you're in, head to Settings → Team to invite the rest of your team by email.
Creating a board
From the dashboard, click Boards → New Board. Pick a template (Start/Stop/Continue, Mad/Sad/Glad, Good/Bad/Next, etc.) or build a custom set of columns — up to five per workspace.
Choose how the board is shared: a public link, workspace-only access, or a passcode-protected link. Pick a moderation mode: Hard block (reject toxic feedback outright), Soft block (warn the submitter, allow override), or Off. When you're ready, copy the share link and send it to your team.
How anonymity works
Every submission is tagged with a device fingerprint generated by FingerprintJS — never with a user ID. The fingerprint is what powers one-vote-per-device and basic spam control, without identity.
Even workspace admins cannot trace a submission to a person. There is no “reveal author” button anywhere in the product, because the underlying data doesn't contain one.
Voting and refining
Anyone with the board link can upvote or downvote feedback. One vote per device per card, enforced by fingerprint. The most upvoted themes rise to the top.
Admins refine the raw feedback into themes — grouping duplicates, surfacing signal from noise. From the refined themes, Manthan auto-generates action items with owners and deadlines that the team can commit to.
Exporting to Jira or Azure DevOps
A workspace admin connects the integration once from Settings → Integrations. After connecting, every retro in that workspace gets a one-click Export to Jira or Export to ADO button on each action item — or export the whole set in bulk.
See the Integrations page for the full breakdown of what's supported.
Insights
Manthan reads across all the retros in your workspace and surfaces three categories of insight: Recurring Pain (issues that keep showing up), Ignored Signal (themes that had votes but never became action items), and Positive Signal (what's working that deserves reinforcement).
Insights are generated on demand from Settings → Insights or from your workspace dashboard.
Plans, trial, and billing
The first 10 workspaces to sign up get three months of Premium for free as an early-bird thank-you. Everyone else gets a 30-day trial of the paid plan with no card required.
Pricing is INR-only and billed through Razorpay. Manage your plan, download invoices, or cancel from Settings → Billing. Cancelling doesn't delete anything — your workspace stays intact until you choose to delete it.
Account and data
Export the full contents of your workspace as JSON from Settings → Data. The export includes boards, feedback, votes, action items, and metadata.
To delete the workspace (cascading all of its boards and feedback), use Settings → Data. To delete your individual user account, email support@craskey.com and we'll handle it.
